Text work, inkjet print on polyester fabric adhesive, 1.0 x 2.6 m.
Based on a series of interviews conducted with participants whilst walking in the countryside in Northumberland, UK. Prompted with consecutive words from the “D” section of the Concise Oxford English Dictionary, interviewees were requested to speak spontaneously about the word, with no other specific instruction given. Untitled (Dagger) comprises the responses of six different participants to the word “dagger”, transcribed in full.
The work was initiated during a Retreat residential workshop in Northumberland in February 2019.
