(Three-minute preview of) 20-minute video for projection; features the artist encountering a series of scenes of sublime landscape in Snowdonia, Wales, combined with a soundtrack relaying the artist’s stream of consciousness.
Visually and compositionally, everything seems in place for a Casper David Friedrich-like appreciation of the wonders of the Welsh landscape, but the inner monologue of the artist betrays a different, more ambivalent and erratic state of mind.
Part of the Searching for the Welsh Landscape series of projects developed for a solo exhibition at Aberystwyth Arts Centre in 2016-17, supported through an Arts Council of Wales production grant.
