(Three-minute preview of) 21-minute video based around premise of burying the entire contents of a box of pasta in a forest. Each piece of pasta is buried at the foot of a different tree.
The action is accompanied by a voice-over narration describing the development of the work’s premise: beginning with the protagonist’s strange fixation on pasta as a “problem” in the world, moving on to the idea of “counting” the pasta as a way to quantify the problem, deciding on the symbolic gesture of “removing it from the world”, before finally describing a lack of certainty about the meaning or motivation behind this “ridiculous” action.
The video was shot on location at Hangelsberg Forest in Brandenburg, Germany.
